Job Description:

We are looking for a proficient Computer Hardware and Networking Engineer to oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, desktop systems, servers, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in managing Linux, Windows, and macOS environments while ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance across all systems and networks.
 

Responsibilities:

Desktop & Hardware Management:
- Manage device movement, installation, and deployment of desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
-Set up and configure desktop/laptop hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues including motherboard, RAM, storage, power supply, and peripheral failures.
- Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain asset inventory and hardware lifecycle management.
 
System Administration & Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu).
- Manage Windows and macOS systems administration tasks.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security updates.
- Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure server availability, reliability, and system health.
 
Network Administration & Management:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Configure and troubleshoot network services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, NFS, and SMB.
- Monitor network performance, connectivity, and bandwidth utilization.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP, connectivity, and internet-related issues.
 
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain system and network security best practices.
- Configure firewall rules, endpoint protection, and access controls.
- Perform SSH hardening, intrusion detection, and log monitoring.
- Respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT and security policies.
 
Desktop Service Management:
- Manage web servers such as Apache and Nginx.
- Administer database servers including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
 
Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
- Maintain documentation for systems, networks, and troubleshooting procedures.
 
Inventory & Asset Management:
- Track, manage, upgrade, and optimize IT assets including, Desktops and laptops, Servers, Networking equipment, Printers and peripherals
- Storage devices and accessories.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Diploma in Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0-1 year of experience in hardware, networking, or system administration.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu)
- Good understanding of Windows and macOS environments.
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting system, hardware, and network issues.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity and endpoint protection best practices. 
- Good to have shell scripting and automation tools exposure.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Exposure of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
