As per the current stats, the Indian software and information technology enabled services (ITES) exports will be doubled by 2010. National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) research team said that each job in the IT-ITES industry would generate more money then, four jobs in any rest of the economy.
The current economic calendar would cross $31 billion and top $60 billion in 2010, by the time the jobs would be jumped from around eight million to 11.5 million as per the IT industry analysis.
The report says, "Nearly three-fourths of the employment will be covered by the catering, housekeeping, security and transport service providers. The employee needs to be senior secondary or higher secondary educated, or sometimes practically uneducated."
The report is based on the detailed survey taken cross section views on various factors that growth in IT-ITES sector will potentially influence the Indian economy through:
Employment for less educated people
Indian economical growth
Alternative to unemployment
But the role of this sector in influencing wider economic development, although increasingly visible, has been relatively less explored in any of the existing analyses. This study has sought to analyze and document this impact."
